After spending some time writing and recording jazz, prog rock and even modern beats and eager to try something new, the Swedish composer J. Ekstrom  turned his musical attention towards the New Age genre. In 2009 the Autumn Kites project saw it´s first daylight resulting in the album “Water Tales” , released in february 2011. The music is a blend of electronic and ethnic moods. Some hints of this could be found in his “early days” unpublished works in the eighties, though at the time, it may have been referred to as cinematic. A second album was released in july 2015, titled “Whispering Winds”. This album holds mainly ambient and downtempo songs with piano and flute melodies on top of lush synth textures. He sees himself as a composer, rather than an artist, and works in project form since it allows for musical and conceptual freedom to explore various genres. The music is released independently through Record Union.    Made with Xara ABOUT
